Topic: Tag Implication: playing_video_games -> gaming

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

If they are literally the same thing, you want an alias, not an implication. Aliases are for merging tags. Implications are for 'Y should always be tagged when X is tagged, but they do NOT have the same meaning.'
(for example big_breasts implies breasts, while large_breasts is aliased to big_breasts)

I would be +1 on aliasing playing_video_games → gaming. Unfortunately, there aren't any instances of the former tag. Aliases generally are not approved if there isn't evidence of the 'wrong' version of the tag actually being used.

-1, alias playing_video_game to playing_videogame, which implies gaming. Or swap the aliases around, then implicate, since videogame shows up as not spelt correctly on my end.

Gaming is a more broad term than video gaming, it can also apply to various physical games (from board & card games to physical interactions like Hide and Seek). An implication is currently better, though IMO playing_game might be a better term.
