fired. Another term can be used if confusion or mistagging arises.

'Shooting' has a broader definition, and avoids the connotation of being fired from a job, or firing a kiln for pottery/earthenware.
Combining these should catch everything from loosing arrows, to firing firearms, to pew pew lasers.

Because of fired tags,
i though some taggers could get confused between firing and fired.
How about firing aliasing to firing_(disambigation)?
with firing_(disambigation) getting separated into
and

Some side-notes (FEEL FREE TO IGNORE):
Looked through tag edits of firing_weapon posts :
4 . . . school_shooting
1 . . . school_shootings
Those clearly are the same thing, right? Yet another plural/singular case redundancy.
A backfire is just a shot out the tailpipe, of partially-combusted fuel. Yeah, this has little to do with 'shooting' definition. It's fired like a cannon, at most.
In fact, I'd say all 'firing' tags that refer to shooting should be changed to shooting and others left alone. I guess? Don't know if there should even be an implication there, if shooting tag is being used for non-firearms. Although a shooting_cum tag should not exist, anyways. We already have ejaculation and the various projectile/explosion/... of it tags. XD

Guns can also backfire (breechloaders in particular), which is probably more likely to be depicted in a post here than a car backfire. Car backfires are typically heard, not seen.

Unless insanely unlocky. Haha. That would be a lot of fumes.
