As the wiki page for hug is currently written, it wouldn't seem suitable for an implication to hug.

A hug is a form of physical intimacy, that usually involves closing or holding the arms around the neck, back, or waist of another person.

It doesn't mean that the definition can't be changed, but I'd imagine that anybody searching for hug would only be expecting that.
