Reason:

Splinter was the old tag referring to the TMNT character. It was changed to Master_splinter, but some posts that were previously tagged as Splinter have not had "master_splinter" added to them.

False; I did a mass tag cleanup, there are 0 posts of master splinter that have the plain splinter tag in them. Only one post has it atm, and it involves an actual physical splinter. I moved the tag precisely for the reason that the tag is so vague that it gets misused commonly.

I propose a disambig instead
