No, they don't. The site doesn't tag specific species humanoids as the specific species, for example a fox_humanoid character doesn't get tagged fox. They get tagged the more generic tags, such as canine_humanoid which gets tagged canine.

I could have sworn it used to. I recall that dog_humanoid used to imply dog.

I find the number of results of the dog_humanoid search to be indicative that these tags once implied the specific species, and they don't anymore.

Honestly, I can't determine in either way. A 2-3 year forum post implies that it was changed, but it also can read to make the change. What I do remember is that we distinguish it at least to keep it different from animal_humanoid and anthro, since they're their own categories.

Who knows, maybe I'm experiencing the biggest Mandela effect and have swapped universes to an e6 that does tag as such, yet doesn't have the implications. If I'm correct, though, then @TheVileOne you discovered a tagging project.

I mean from what you're saying it sounds like it's now treated like the pokemon case, which is to say that they're not tagged with the specific species tag (instead using their specific humanoid tag) but can be tagged with the more general species tags (canine etc.)

Denied. While this (may have) used to be the general view on animal humanoid species tag implications way back when, how we structure things with them is different now. We have separate base humanoid tags that imply base things like animal families and subfamilies.

For instance, snow leopard humanoids imply pantherine humanoid, which in itself implies pantherine and felid humanoid. Felid humanoid in turn implies felid and mammal humanoid, etc etc.
