Topic: Tag Discussion: maleherm → masculine_herm

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

(I can't file this as an actual alias suggestion because "maleherm is already aliased to something", even though that's false)

Seems to me like the current way of tagging herms, with masculine hermaphrodites having their own tag and feminine hermaphrodites being considered some kind of default (which means you can only search for those via negation, like herm -maleherm), as well as being an oddity in the current tagging landscape when it comes to gender symmetry. There's not really a tag for feminine herms right now, and femherm doesn't have the same ring to it.

I'm not trying to bring the intersex debate into this and I'd very much like if it could be kept out of this discussion, I just want to make maleherm more than just an exception to herm.

I don't remember if you can suggest an alias from a tag with aliases, implied tags or implying tags. That may be why you couldn't suggest an alias...

Ah, yes, I remember this old thread... Shame it didn't end up anywhere, though I don't see any reason not to revive the question. ambiguous_herm would also be an interesting idea if we're going with the whole "should only be tagged through implications", but I feel like a tag like feral_herm would be more useful in a general context.

wait maleherm implies herm? I guess it hasn't been a problem due to maleherm<1000 and herm>10,000

Well, a man-looking herm is still a herm, I guess people have just started expecting herms to have boobs for some reason and maleherms to be the exception.

You can blame Japan for that. Futanari (which are literally "chicks with dicks") is their thing.

Not anymore it's not, though.

So, any support for this? The only issue I'm personally seeing with this change is tag group composition, since masculine_herm is already a composite tag, and we don't have a whole lot of precedent for stuff like muscular_masculine_herm which would have to replace muscular_maleherm. I'm not personally too worried about the confusion between "Which is supposed to have boobs and which isn't?", like people have with intersex tags (even though that was raised in the previous thread on the matter).
