Topic: Tag Alias: patchwork_monster -> patchwork_creature

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

+1, I wouldn't consider all patchwork_creatures monsters, and we definitly shouldn't have two tags for it.

the summary of why patchwork_monster and patchwork_creature are two separate tags, though, is:

Monsters are monstrous. Literally the wiki says "Add this tag only if the creature's appearance is at least somewhat monstrous."

These are not monsters:

They should not be tagged as monsters.

What does that have to do with anything? They're not asking that patchwork creature imply monster. You can just tag patchwork monsters as patchwork_creature monster.

I'm not even sure those should be tagged with patchwork_creature. Patchwork_creature is for like Frankenstein's monster-type characters, like, made of different parts of multiple beings. Those characters look like living_plushs with patches sewn on for repair or something.

uh... because they're talking about aliasing patchwork_monster into patch_work creature, and my argument was that they're two specific individual things that that shouldn't be aliased together?

Ahha, that WOULD be a much better tag for that! (though, er, patchwork_creature didn't exist until I started tagging it, so... :P )

Hmm.. that said, not everything tagged with patchwork creature could just be retagged with living plush... So that would need manual tagging.

I dunno. I feel like patchwork_monster adds a lot, especially since most "stitched together" being are grotesque and horrific by nature.

@Genjar - you were my main conspirator in the other thread. thoughts?

Ah, I should check these more often, and I should check for existing topics too! Problem is I can't separate the chaff from the useful results when I use the search function... :/

4 years have passed and I have no idea what the existing patchwork terrain looks like. (other than, y'know. Patchy.)

Seems safest to reject this, and reevaluate.

(i'm also not sure I agree with 4-years-ago-me. Who was she even?)
