Topic: [Rescinded] Tag Implication: morrigan_aensland_(cosplay) -> cosplay

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

Sorry, I've seen tags like that used before. I wasn't aware it wasn't correct. I will remove the tag.

To be clear, this is considered the correct way of handling this in general? If so, I would also go through and change all the other things I found with character_(cosplay) to character and cosplay

Update- Alright, I went through and removed morrigan_aensland_(cosplay) and made sure all those posts had the cosplay tag. Sorry again.

Not a problem. You heard our advice, changed your actions and undid any damage. Good on you for that.

For clarification, tags following that format (with the underscore and parentheses) are generally used to distinguish tags that would otherwise be ambiguous. For instance, if a character and an artist share the same name, the character would have a tag with _(character) at the end, and the artist would have a tag with _(artist) at the end - this isn't to give more information about the tag, but rather to distinguish the two.

Which explains why _(cosplay) isn't a tag.

Hopefully that helps! Again, to be clear, kudos to you for fixing your mistake.
