Well, for the future, the opposite is actually prefered: A bumped thread or a new thread both appear exactly the same way for us in the forum--and in a bumped thread, we can see that several people have had this idea, not just you.

Plus, cat-in-flight's thread also contains a link that the admin can use to get to the alias-making-area very quickly.

It's over all to say: bumps are better :)
