Equines do have a particular style of anus that is different from humans; I think this particular one might be worth keeping

Alright, care to write a descriptive wiki entry so proper usage of the tag can be determined? (listing what details are necessary for this tag to apply) I personally don't much care either way, so I'll leave it up to mob rule from here on.

Might be worth having some tags to describe different styles of anus.

Right now we have puffy_anus which seems similar to equine_anus..

x_anus which is for little x-buttholes

Canine anus seems like it's describing an anus with fur closely around it, generally with a horizonal-ish ...er... pucker? opening? rather than a more vertical one like humanoids have.. there seems to be a lot of focus on "fur, then bare skin"... while most more humanoid ones handwave the concept of wherer fur begins and ends.

(also that hyena picture makes me so angry. That's not what hyena junk looks like. Hyenas are not canines. They're closer to cats than dogs c_c.)

I could see the canine-anus thing being a thing people like in particular... but it wouldn't be restricted to canines... jsut like puffy anus isn't horses in particular...

I mean, it's not like it's any less accurate than the millions of pictures that just put a human vagina on everything, regardless of species.

We could go the cloaca/pussy route and have a horizontal_anus tag, since the shape of these are relatively horizontal.

To be fair, the artist of the hyena pic stated that they know its the wrong equipment, but the commissioner specifically asked for it.

Yeah, I can write that up later today. Give me some time to do some research on horse butt and I'll try to word it all out correctly. I'll also look for some art that can be used as a tumbnail example.

The problem with the puffy_anus tag is that while horse_anus implies puffy_anus, puffy_anus doesn't imply horse_anus.

Actually, that was part of what annoyed me. the description says that they're "not a fan" of the idea--like it's some sort of head cannon that they can will away. ... I don't mind the anatomy being changed, it's just... It reminds me too much of certain groups of people who believe that their opinion should matter more than anyone else's opinion. Also, it's perpetuating false information for the sake of someone's penis. *shrug*

But, anyway:

I think the bare-skin-around it part is more important --and more easily visible... but this is totally not my fetish, so I dunno.

Just to clarify, there aren't any implications involved here yet.

And it's okay implications don't work both ways.

All foxes are canines, but not all canines are foxes. That's why Fox implies canine.

If someone is tagging horse_anus, it is likely because they are tagging a rounded, slightly protruding anus. Which is the definition of puffy_anus. It's okay if a puffy anus is found on an elf, or a dog or a fish, it's describing a feature.

Likely won't be able to do the wiki page myself, stuff just came up IRL that will likely keep me busy for a few days. Sorry to disappoint!

You make very good points! Are you up for making a wiki entry or two?

I could, once we settle on a list of tags and concepts :)

Another vote for this not being superfluous either.
So most of you reached consensus that this tag was useful and yet this tag was aliased anyway? Why did that happen?

Aliasing equine_anus → invalid_tag
Link to alias

Reason:

Same as before, irrelevant and unnecessary, people can just search equine and anus. No wiki entry, not like that would save it.

What is your problem with this tag and canine_anus? I am thinking of requesting a mod restore these. Have you tried searching "canine/equine" and "anus"? It returns literally tens of thousands of results. People have been using these two tags to find feral images since before you joined the site.
Since animals have differently structured anuses, these two tags were accurate and effective. Also, just because a tag lacks a wiki, doesn't mean that is grounds for deletion.

If you had to alias these it would have been better to request them to be aliased to "animal_anus" or anatomically_correct_anus".

Sure don't look like it got aliased to me.

Hahaha, no. That'd be real bad. If any non-equine had equine_anus on it'd be instantly replaced with a blatantly wrong tag.

You're correct. Sorry, I thought both canine and equine *_anus tags had been invalidated.

Lol, I suppose you're right. Hadn't thought of someone intentionally sticking horse anatomy on a dog or something, haha.

I was letting stress get me into a negative state and didn't think it through before I made these posts. However, it has resulted in useful discussion and will hopefully result in some wiki entries being created too! Man, are there ever a massive number of tags without proper wikis or without any at all!
