Reason:

Visually this is not wrong, but in theory there can exist an anus where a butt is not present. It depends on whether the end of a creature's digestive tract ends at the butt or somewhere else. For instance, a tentacle mass may not possess a butt, but if it excretes feces from an orifice located on a tentacle then *that* can be considered its anus.

This leaves images where the anus is not on the butt, and in other cases a feral creature may not possess a butt yet possesses an anus (and any other genitalia); as well as instances where a butt is not drawn yet the anus is (probably represented as an X-anus).

Speaking of which, could you fix the old presenting_hindquarters -> butt implication? Not all rears include a butt.

also just a quick browse through mot tag probably reveals numerous instances of characters with anus somewhere except between butt cheeks
