Topic: Tag Implication: coffee_mug -> cup

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

There's a tag specifically for coffee mugs? Whenever I tried tagging posts with them, I just used mug, but that was aliased away to cup.

Yeah, someone decided a long time ago that mugs and cups were the same thing despite mugs being a type of cup.

Since the coffee_mug is defined in the wiki as a cup for hot beverages, not just coffee, wouldn't it be more efficient/accurate to change the mug -> cup alias to an implication and then alias coffee_mug to mug?

I just noticed that coffee_cup is used as well, it probably ought to be aliased to mug or coffee_mug.

coffee_cup tends to be used fur both the ceramic kind and the styrofoam kind. The latter should be tagged disposable_cup.

Seriously‽ I just finished retagging my coffee_mug uploads, now I need to update my posts with the styrofoam ones.

On that note, disposable_cup should also be implicated to cup.

Edit: Wait, should disposable_cup be used for posts that contain those cups that fast food places and cinemas use? You know, the ones with the plastic lid with the straw-hole. Or is there another mysterious subtag of cup for that specific type that I've somehow never heard of before?

Pretty much any kind of cup that's only supposed to be used once and chucked out falls under disposable_cup.
