Just curious, is there anything Valve-related that isn't related to video games? I'm not too familiar with it so maybe that's a silly question.
Edit: Or possibly alias dota_2 -> dota nope, portal_2 is aliased to portal_(series) but other games like five_nights_at_freddy's_2 imply five_nights_at_freddy's. I don't know much about either game but if they're similar enough...well you know. Edit: nope. Also fnaf2 doesn't imply fnaf, I thought it did.

Dota shouldn't imply valve, it's a mod from warcraft 3
However Dota 2 DOES imply valve, as that is a full game and not a mod

That's confusing. I wish I could have gotten into Warcraft 3 back when I was into Warcraft/Starcraft. The mapmaking possibilities looked so much more advanced (and less likely to crash probably).
Oh, anyways. Would dota_2 -> dota work at least? And possibly fnaf2 -> fnaf while I've brought it up.
I feel silly stumbling into this with so little information. Sorry about that.

I think they made a movie once, about free to play games. but that is related to games.
Also.
gondar_the_bounty_hunter -> dota_2
slark_the_nightcrawler -> dota_2
aiushtha_the_enchantress -> dota_2
leviathan_the_tidehunter -> dota_2
azwraith_the_phantom_lancer -> dota_2
ulfsaar_the_ursa_warrior -> dota_2
There are more, but the amount of posts is kinda low, i don't know if its worth mentioning.

That should be discussed actually. In essence it's the same, Dota 2 is basically an Improved version of original Dota.
However, like I said Dota 2 belongs to valve, BUT Dota, being a mod from warcraft 3, had Blizzard stuff in it, so some shit like some character looks, names and other minimal stuff changes from game to game. Basically if the looks or names are copyrighted to Blizzard, it's changed to something else, like an Hidralisk character changed to a cobra thing

As long as dota_2 implies valve but dota doesn't that shouldn't be too much of an issue at least (as long as people are tagging dota as just the Warcraft 3 one that is).

That works, however I did my resesearch within site, and...
this is the ONLY picture that belongs from the original dota post #163337
The rest are dota 2 stuff tagged dota, dota 2 or both.
So really I'm confused and don't know what to do with this messy tags.

They just need to be cleaned up, is all. There's a chance that more DotA1 artwork will wind up here. It was a very popular map, after all.

Of interest: Warcraft 3 allowed a bunch of customizations to triggers and such, but was still very limited in the ability to create Original Content.
Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne added in the ability to create new spells, new icons, new lots-of-other-things, but it was difficult to add in new models for units (Possible, just difficult).
Then comes Starcraft 2. Suddenly, we can have customized inventories (Thank you, SC2 Window thing!) to support all sorts of things and inventory sizes (Seen it handled where the player can get multiple bags, even), new models can be added with greater simplicity, and a lot of other accessibility enhancements. I think, however, that the new inventory system is difficult to handle. Next game they make for either franchise will probably make things even easier.
