At least they are using standards with cable and storage, that's already way much better than my dust gathering vita has.

Aside from the microSD and 32 GB internal, it has a proprietary cartridge slot, which I thought was interesting.

A game that requires more storage than the entire Switch has is coming. The stolen Switch was found to use 6.1 GB for the OS. So it has only about 25.9 GB for games. Dragon Quest Heroes I and II requires 32 GB. Hopefully that means it fits on any cheap 32 GB microSD card, and you don't have to bump it up to 64 GB.

I actually already have 128 GB SD card on my New 3DS XL, but when talking about this kind of console and I prefer to get my games digitally, 32 GB base is ridiculous.

Also funny story, because at least my Wii U is more picky about external HDD than my cat is about their food, I have 2 TB external connected to it, because all other models failed to work, one even working until one update from nintendo but luckily got my save files rescued - because for some reason someone though it's good idea to keep saves attached with all game data, so they are on external and not internal.

I would really like to love nintendo, but they are just so fucking awful at everything else than making games.

I take it that nobody's overly excited about Nier: Automata, then?

I'm actually really looking forward to this one, played the demo with PS4 and I had really great time, was even laughing myself a bit when the fighting felt so good, always good reminder why I love playing games. Everyone with PS4 should definitely try out the demo.

However I usually don't like to get myself hyped for stuff or specifically wait for stuff to come out, because of how fuckton of stuff I already have and need to get trough at some point.

Another issue is that I prefer getting my games on PC, at least right now release date for PC seems to be "2017", so I'm not exactly in need to keep myself hyped for whole year. When it comes out, I'll buy it and if for some reason they cancel the PC version, I'll look it up from PSN sale.

I can't. I'm in the UK and there must be some sort of region restriction because it's not on the PSN thing

Weird, I wonder if you can get around that because my brother has a Japanese account on the ps4 so we can get games that are only in japan.

Edit: I just googled it this was the first result http://www.dealspwn.com/ps4-guide-buy-play-psn-games-199505 maybe this will work.

I am seeing it on EU PSN. I highly recommend browsing PSN trough browser, the thing on console itself sucked on PS3 and Vita and it still does with PS4, also clicking download makes it download instantly on PS4 anyway:

I do actually have US and JP accounts as well to get region exclusive stuff. Basically all local accounts can have single PSN account linked to it from any region and all accounts can play other users installed games, excluding some individual titles. Also works with PS3.

With US account this is easy, but japan makes UI japanese so you may need some tuto with that one. However for the issue in hand, I'm almost certain the issue is store application on PS4 sucking balls.

Not going to judge you here, that's one of the other games I'm getting my PS4 for. I'm absolutely still planning to play the fuck out of that. I'm probably going to make the human version of my fursona, Solarus, as my main there - A gunslinger, to be sure. Solarus is a Paladin by virtue but a rogue by skillset, so Solar-Light-wielding Hunter is exactly him.

Also a Gunslinger main. Though I do have to admit, its a pretty one-note class. Its only real function in most teams is pegging Majors and Bosses with Golden Gun. After Tripmines were nerfed, they got the second most mediocre grenade set after Stormcallers. Throwing Knife is probably the worst melee in the game. Besides the buffs to weapon stability and reload speed on precision kills, it doesn't do much else. Still, after they gave Golden Gun an 80% damage buff (and an extra 30% if you use the Deadeye perk), it became an extremely potent Super. Just build your class around it- Bad Juju and a helmet with Inverse Shadow gives you tons of extra super charge per kill. Circle of Life gets extra charge from Throwing Knife precision kills. Use those and max your Intellect stat and you can use it every couple minutes. Achylophage Symbiote gives it an extra shot. Celestial Nighthawk makes it fire one shot with 6x damage, letting you sink a metric fuckton of damage into a boss.

Nightstalker is worth leveling too, though. Shadowshot granting your team bonus damage and spawning extra Orbs of Light is indispensable, and I always prioritize it if my Raid team doesn't have another Nightstalker. Bladedancer is trash and not worth using for anything anymore.

I never thought to check the "Demo" section of the store

So it was actually me being a retard.

Gameplay was extremely good, by the way. Aside from "the obvious", I love the fact you can dodge out of really long combos. That's something future games like this REALLY need.

FFXV:

didn't bother to mention this before but to any who try this game. why is there a white wall when you jump? no, seriously. you can be running around and even when on a flat surface, if you jump and keep holding forward in one direction your momentum will suddenly stop entirely past a certain point. it's even easier to see when you jump off of something at a higher altitude (see the point below for why that too is an issue). why did they white wall jumping? that's just really weird.

no game really comes to mind where the jumping mechanic featured a white wall aspect. o_O

and for that matter, why fall damage? XIII had no fall damage when lightning and others might jump off a cliff or something. yeah...careful of how far you fall in XV or you'll be taking fall damage like in skyrim and other games that have this feature.

oh ha ha, still one of the links I provided said that the us ps store has some of the best deals and a large variety so it may still be worth trying. The Japanese account on mine can be pretty fun sometimes as well.

Weird how did I not notice that? As for fall damage at least to me the characters in some final fantasy games seem more super human than in others, so perhaps they were trying to go more realistic in XV. Plus lighting did have the grav con unit in the beginning of the game.

Anyone play Destiny or have been playing it since it first came out? I doubt there are many of us left especially those who don't play competitive multiplayer.

Not many games this gen catch my attention anymore. I get burnouts more frequently since games don't seem to interest me because they're all the same now.

might give it a try some day (got neverwinter in my downloads for now. as long as it doesn't require PS+.

to this day, i'm still left wondering how anyone can think consoles are superior to pc despite them being inferior in so many different ways. still, it's nice to have and at $15/month i can play all the games i want from gamefly cheaper than just buying them individually.

Sometimes I still play it and I've had it since the beginning it get kinda repetitive but it can be fun for awhile. That's why I like single player games, primarily online or multiplayer games seem to be much more repetitive.

This is in no small part because designers of many notable multiplayer games use Skinner Box-style operant conditioning to keep players playing longer than they would otherwise.

it's not too noticeable if your jumping around a flat area or uphill but if you jump off of something (like all those rocks in the threevalleys region) going downwards then it's easily noticeable as you just stop completely at a certain distance.

:( such a shame theres pretty much no exploration at the end of the game. to explore the land with demons pretty much every 5 steps or so... lol they could've put some uber bosses in that part of the game. >:)

well, there is 1 uber boss type of enemy but it's part of a hunt i think. do you recall how big Long Gui was in XIII? well, he may be tall but hes NOTHING compared to the adamantoise! lol

is this a mountain or is it something truly incredible? that's right, the Adamantoise of XV is literally THAT massive. and it has so much HP that when i first encountered it and summoned Ramuh, even Ramuh's judgement bolt attack barely hurt it.

note, the map i took that from was a full size copy of that continent map in-game that someone pieced together with screenshots (one of thos HUGE maps like the one for symphony of the night.

this map is an impressive 14.7MB JPEG, 19843 x 11339 resolution (size). and that's just ONE of the games 3 continent maps!

Anyone played American truck simulator? I have,it's good. Only thing is that the trailers seem to get stuck on things at times. Right now it's California,Nevada and Arizona truck sim. I wonder when scs will release dlc for the other lower 48 states, including Canada and Mexico.

pay-to-win games with micro-transactions are quite likely THE worst thing game devs have EVER created. it is very rare to see a game dev do it right (like those who made path of exile where non of the micro-transaction stuff touches game balance or gives an unfair advantage) as opposed to those who are simply milking it for a quick buck while never fixing any bugs/glitches/etc. and just leaving it for dead when they tire of it.

my first reaction whenever i see a game listed as free-to-play is to check if it has micro-transactions followed by checking if that results in the game being pay-to-win. if it's pay-to-win then i ignore the game, move along, and advise against such games.

mexico isn't a state so that'd be the other 47 states.

..but i5-3570K, 16GB DDR3, 256GB SSD + 3TB HDD, GTX 980 Ti.

Been playing with consoles lately a lot and majority of PC stuff has been indie level, so not like I'm taking much advantage of this right now, but it's nice to hit over that 100 FPS mark whenever game supports it.

i don't like this old laptop, i HAAATE it! ಠ_ಠ

using a laptop is like using a video game console as a pc. you can just BARELY upgrade it (drivers...maybe) and when it starts deteriorating your left with an increasingly frustrating piece of tech.

the integrated keyboard has LONG since stopped being usable. the integrated chipset it uses as a substitute for a real video (graphics?) care greatly limits what you can run on it past a certain age.

i can run diablo II. i can run everquest 2 and even RIFT at decent graphics without lag or slowdown. skyrim? oh, it'll run just fine but the framerate is that of an abomination (BAD!).

shader something version 3.0+? any and i mean ANY game that uses this is completely off limits even if all other system requirements are more than met.

if i can get another big, expensive (FYI $400+ is expensive for us), present for christmas this year. i might go for a new pc...but it'd still be a maybe as to whether or not i can actually get one.

I should buy one as soon as I can stop wasting money on weapons, I don't know who I'm trying to fool here I'll never stop buying new weapons.

I used to run a 3570k with a cheap mainboard and a GTX 680 my dad borrowed from his workplace. Upgraded to the Z97, 1070, and Devil's Canyon last summer. It can hold 60FPS on ultra settings in pretty much every game I play. Honestly, its overkill, since I'm still stuck with 1080p, but having the insurance is nice.

There are plenty of non-indie games to push your graphical capabilities. My aforementioned Total War: Warhammer and Battlefield 1 will be a nice stress test (any game in those series is, really)

Depends on your definition of good. Mine's a pretty beefy mid-range build, and part by part, will set you back probably 700-800 dollars. But I run Intel/Nvidia parts, and splurged early for the 1070 a month or so after it came out. And don't let "mid range" make you think its only average. Like I mentioned above, I max out Battlefield 1 without any notable framerate drops. I could probably upgrade my monitor from 1080p/60FPS to 1440p/144FPS with that setup. The only way it could be better is with a GTX 1080 or Titan P card, and an i7 processor, but those two parts would tack on another 400.

PC gaming, in terms of cost to performance, is in a pretty good spot and only getting better. The GTX 1070 beat out last generations 980ti and Titan cards at 2/3 to half the price. AMD's good for budget builds, and their new lineup of Ryzen CPUs next week, plus Vega cards this summer, will match Intel's top tier products at a drastically reduced price (if the benchmarks line up). With a Ryzen 5 or 3 CPU, RX 480 card, and budget board/RAM/power supply, you could get a decently powerful PC for 500 dollars or less that still far outperforms consoles. Even if you can't drop that much up front, its also possible to get a sub-300 PC with older parts and upgrade it over time, which is what I did.
