So, I'm somewhat curious what sort of music the bunch of you listen to. What genres, if genre matters to you? Anything in particular you look for?
Personally, I like having a large mix of genres to listen to. And I usually like things that stand out in some way to me.
Here, have seven random songs I like.
Sorry if this has been done before. I sort of looked but didn't see anything, and I thought it might be fun to share music a bit.
didnt we have like 2 threads about this exact same subject a while back
Quite possibly. Like I said, I sort of looked. Didn't see anything. Doesn't mean it's not there somewhere.
Depends on the song, but mostly Metal, Industrial, Rock. Some Pendulum and Prodigy sometimes.
Rap, Hip Hop and House are no-go´s for me ^^
Some of my favorites:
Burnin' for you
And here's an astronaut performing a cover of my favorite song ever aboard the ISS.
I also like classical and some video game songs.
Anything by Queens of the Stone Age's frontman, Ginger Elvis/Josh Homme. Songs For The Deaf is my favorite album, and their most recent one, Like Clockwork, is looking to be a classic. It's hard to single any one song out, yet I really enjoy Smooth Sailing and their animated short film , which features 4 edited songs and a full length My God Is The Sun at the end.
The collaboration between John Paul Jones, Josh Homme and Dave Grohl, Them Crooked Vultures, is pretty cool. Yup. Pretty cool.
Godspeed You Black Emperor is nice. Try to find a 320kbps download, though
Battles , Nicole Atkins , Death Grips (might take 2 or 3 listens), Björk , Lil Ugly Mane , Nine Inch Nails when Trent Reznor doesn't use lyrics, Chrome Sparks , obligatory Radiohead
and some guilty pleasures like Lady Gaga and Kanye West.
oh, and my theme song
Amazarashi and Ling Tosite Sigure are two of my all-time favourite bands.
They're on Youtube and I highly recommend you check out their music.
Also the Beatles, David Bowie, Queen and of course Pink Floyd are amazing too
Ryuzaki_Izawa said:David Bowie, Queen
think i have a queen discography torrent downloaded which included that 40th anniversary...no, wait, thats all i downloaded as it has like 15 albums in it (big anniversary collection). 2011 - 40th Anniversary (Remastered, LE, SHM-CD Japan) (30CD)
also have 1 or 2 of Bowies albums, pretty nice.
pretty much, as long as it sounds nice i'm not picky. i tend to not worry much about artist, genre, or where its from or the language (don't have to know german to like Rammstein for example. ;)). with a few small exceptions, afaik i haven't ever heard anything good or even decent out of the...screamo genre? or whatever the heck it was called. if i want something loud i have bands like dragonforce to choose from (REALLY like they're music).
David Bowie, Queen, Lady Gaga, Dragonforce, Rammstein, Avenged Sevenfold, Boom Boom Satellites, Daft Punk, Ozzy Osborne, Pendulum, The Prodigy... oo and Skálmöld (they're Baldur and Börn Loka albums are pretty good) to name a few of the artist/bands in my music folder, then theres all the animes and video game music i have in my music folder. >.> i try to keep an open mind on a lot of thing and that might play a part in my music tastes but like i said, i'm not picky when it comes to music just so long as it sounds good. :)
:/ 56.1GB, 10, 003 files. music takes up a good amount of space BUT at least its not FLAC files or else my collection would've been forced down to around a quarter of its current size. and i don't really care about the whole FLAC vs mp3 argument so spare me that dumb waste of time. >.> from what i've read online, FLAC really doesn't affect sound quality vs mp3 as much as some people would like to believe. it just keeps the file size enormous and helps prevent data loss mostly.
anyway, not trying to flame with that, just putting it out there on the off chance someone tries to bother me about it (which they probably will now that i've said something >.> sorry for that)
I don't feel like answering the same question again, so I'm just going to copy-paste my top artists from last.fm.

Despite being a reposted thread, it's been rather interesting nonetheless.
Also yes. That is a huge wall of music.
Recently I'm into Classical.
Probably because of Freddy ..

I'm into just about anything, but if I had to pinpoint one thing, it'd be piano or strings. I love the sound of violins, cellos, etc., but I also love piano.Buy as I said, I love just about anything. Metal, electric, country.Just, not rap. It usually sounds terrible and the lyrics are even worse."All my niggas be fucking the bitches." Yes, I heard that in a rap once, don't know what it's name was, but a coworker was playing it. Like seriously, ugh.

Don't playa hate.
Oh, it's not all bad

eh, i like classical stuff too sometimes. ah, right, there is at least 1 beethoven track somewhere in my collection. >.>
there is such a thing as good rap music but yeah, its no good imo when it winds up being little more than someone who "thinks" they're a musician when all they're doing is spewing profanity nonstop. that's not music, thats just someone spewing profanity constantly. less profanity and drugs and other stupid topics and i may like that genre more.
i do like some rap music but not much due to the above reason(s).

Damn right it is. And I recently bought a 128 GB MicroSD card to store it all in. I may reach 30,000 songs by the time that memory card is filled, and I hope that happens a few years from now.
I'm glad the music I listen to is mostly instrumentals. None of the garbage that is mostly played on the radio or dumped onto the internet.

I listen to almost entirely non-vocal music, but nothing is free from the internet. :V

You obviously haven't looked hard enough. That's how I found the soundtrack to Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
Rap, rock, techno, and some other stuff and can't really categorize. I also like a lot of CAVE stuff.
Rock music, primarily pop rock and emo rock. My favorite band is Panic! at the Disco.
Game music mostly.
Splatoon Early Rip currently. <3
Crazy, I just clicked on the forums just now to start a thread like this.
I like good non-instrusive melodic dubstep and chillstep, but I'm fond of other genres such as Japanese music, rock, classical, orchestral, some rap, etc. I enjoy thinking that I appreciate a broad spectrum of music.
I'll provide links to some of the songs I've been listening to lately.
Clams Casino - I'm God Amazing chill song, I know it's a Lil B rap instrumental, but my god, Clams Casino has crazy talent.Dubsidia - Like a Blizzard A pretty heavy track, but I still enjoy it. It's Dubsidia, I admire their works and this is no exception.Gold Panda - You Another chill track that I am fond of.SirensCeol - Coming Home Super good, you have to listen for yourself, that's all I can say.aKu - The Final Blow Chill with an oriental vibe. Nice.DNKL - Wolfhour More chill, very relaxing when I'm stressed out.Memtrix - All You Are Just the right blend of what I love.Jomekka - Eighto Engage sex dubstep. Not usually my taste, but I like this one because it's a really hard song in a rhythm game I love (osu!), and it grew on me.Pendulum - Propane Nightmares (CellDweller Remix Rock dubstep, I love this song.Blackmill - Home NICE.
Wotamin - Gigantic OTN Self-explanatoryTeddyloid ft. Daoko - Me!Me!Me! Potentially WTF video, but I actually love the video. Starts out like a generic anime opening, but it turns on you rather fast with Daoko's deceivingly innocent voice.syrufit - monochrome (Babbe Remix) This one is actually made by a German, but the lyrics are in Japanese. Very calm EDM. Better with good headphones.Foreground Eclipse - Oath of Allegiance Metal/rock, I love the game series it came from (Touhou Project)Coda - Bloody Stream From my favorite season of the anime rendition of one of the most influential and popular mangas in Japan; JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.Babbe - Unknown Insanity Same guy who made the monochrome remix, but this one is in German and is a remix of a song from the same series as the last. It's a remix of U.N. Owen was Her?Triple-Kyun - Amagi Linkin Park LMFAO!!! A guilty pleasure.Jam Project - GONG Sound the gong!!! Pure old-school awesomeness anime themed track.
Music's the devil
Major Tom (Coming Home)
There need to be more songs about space.
